N.S.B. Computing NSBC-PC-011 Theoretical Computations Using PhySix
نویسنده
چکیده
We demonstrate, with simple examples from theoretical physics, the utility of doing numerical and symbolic manipulations with the aid of our computer program PhySix. The latter is a very small single-file executable application under Windows, with a code language very much (though not exactly) similar to Mathematica. A copy of the current version of PhySix is embedded in this article, and can be extracted safely, and used freely by every one.

The Theoretical Development of a New High Speed Solution for Monte Carlo Radiation Transport Computations. (December 2005) Alexander Samuel Pasciak, B.S., University of Washington Chair of Advisory Committee: Dr. John R. Ford Advancements in parallel and cluster computing have made many complex Monte Carlo simulations possible in the past several years. Unfortunately, cluster computers are larg...
متن کاملObtaining exact interpolation multivariate polynomial by approximation
In some fields such as Mathematics Mechanization, automated reasoning and Trustworthy Computing etc., exact results are needed. Symbolic computations are used to obtain the exact results. Symbolic computations are of high complexity. In order to improve the situation, exactly interpolating methods are often proposed for the exact results and approximate interpolating methods for the approximate...
متن کاملApproximate Level Method for Nonsmooth Convex Minimization
In this paper, we propose and analyse an approximate variant of the level method of Lemaréchal, Nemirovskii and Nesterov for minimizing nonsmooth convex functions. The main per-iteration work of the level method is spent on (i) minimizing a piecewise-linear model of the objective function and (ii) projecting onto the intersection of the feasible region and a level set of the model function. We ...
متن کاملEnabling Automated Deployment for Cluster Computing in Distributed PC Classrooms
The rapid improvement of the microprocessor and network has made it possible for the PC cluster to compete with conventional supercomputers. Lots of high throughput type of applications can be satisfied by using the current desktop PCs, especially for those in PC classrooms, and leave the supercomputers for the demands from large scale high performance parallel computations. This paper presents...
متن کاملParallel Computing on a PC Cluster
The tremendous advance in computer technology in the past decade has made it possible to achieve the performance of a supercomputer on a very small budget. We have built a multi-CPU cluster of Pentium PC capable of parallel computations using the Message Passing Interface (MPI). We will discuss the configuration, performance, and application of the cluster to our work in physics.
